Let go……
There has always been
something else—
something ancient,
unseen,
holding me.
And now I know—
it’s okay.
Let go, Grandma.
You can go now.
I see their faces—
so many souls
who poured love into me
like rain into dry earth.
My grandpa—
he bore storms,
his silence thick with pain,
and still, he stood.
A circle of sorrow
rippled out from him,
but it wasn’t his fault.
I feel his ache—
quiet, heavy.
And hers too—
my grandma,
wild-hearted,
reaching for a life
that always stayed
just beyond her fingertips.
I see her now—
rising,
dissolving into stars,
becoming
what she always was:
part of the universe.
